1. Who We Are

ALMA is a caring, voice-first AI companion created by Michael Forrest in Poinciana, Florida, to help seniors and veterans stay connected, remember what matters, and live independently.

2. Information We Collect

ALMA collects only the information you voluntarily share during setup and conversation:

• Your first name and personal preferences
• The names of family members and friends you mention, and the names and phone numbers of the people you add to your Circle
• Interests, hobbies, and daily routines you mention, including health routines, such as when you take your medication, which is what lets her remind you
• Reminders for medications, appointments, bills, and wellness activities, kept in your own words
• A one-line note of each conversation, for example, “talked about the garden and a call from her son”, so ALMA can pick up where you left off

ALMA is not a general-purpose assistant. She is not something you ask questions of while a company quietly collects what you asked. She has one job, to be a good companion to you, and she is built for that and nothing else.

2A. ALMA Is Not a Medical or Emergency Service

ALMA can hold a reminder for you, but she is not a doctor, a medical device, or a monitoring service, and she does not diagnose, treat, or manage any health condition. In a medical emergency, call 911. ALMA never calls 911, or anyone else, for you. The emergency card shows you where you are on your own phone, and your location never leaves it (Section 6).

2B. Your Circle Sees Alerts, Not Conversations

The people in your Circle hear from ALMA only if they have joined, and only in the ways listed in Section 7. They are never shown a transcript, recording, or summary of what you talked about. What you tell ALMA stays between you and her unless you choose to share it yourself.

2C. Health Routines You Choose to Share

If you tell ALMA about your medication, appointments, or other health routines, that may count as health information under some states’ laws. ALMA remembers routines like these so that she can remind you and so that she knows you the way a friend would; they are part of what she remembers about you, described in Section 4.

You can ask her to forget something at any time by saying so, delete any reminder on the Reminders tab, or write to us. We do not sell, share, or use this information for advertising under any circumstances.

3. What ALMA Will Never Do

ALMA is not a data business, and she never will be. We do not sell what you tell her. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. There are no advertisements in ALMA, no advertising network, no tracking pixels, and no analytics company watching you, and we are not quietly building any of that for later. We do not make money from your information.

ALMA does not keep your conversations. She is not a recording of your life. She keeps a short list of the things worth remembering, your name, what matters to you, your reminders, and a one-line note of each conversation, and that is all that is stored. Your words are not kept in a log somewhere for someone to read later.

Your voice is never kept. What you say is turned into text so that ALMA can understand you, and the recording is discarded. We retain no audio files.

What you say is not used to train artificial intelligence. Section 4 says exactly what we have done to make that true.

Even our own team cannot read your conversations. To keep ALMA working properly we measure things like how often she answered and how long she took, counts and timings. What you said is not in there, and it never has been.

3A. ALMA Is Artificial Intelligence, Not a Person

ALMA is an AI companion. She is not a person, a nurse, a doctor, or a crisis counselor, and she does not replace one. We say this plainly because ALMA is built to feel warm and familiar, and we never want that warmth to be mistaken for something it isn’t.

If you are thinking about suicide or harming yourself, please call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, at any hour. Veterans can dial 988 and press 1 for the Veterans Crisis Line. ALMA cannot call anyone for you, so please reach them, or someone in your Circle, directly.

4. How ALMA Understands and Responds

To hear you, think, and answer in her own voice, ALMA relies on a small number of specialist services, a speech-to-text service, a language service, and a voice service. When she sends a text message, a texting service delivers it (Section 7). We keep a current list of these suppliers on file and will share it with anyone who asks.

Training. Since September 17, 2026, all three services are configured so that what you say is not used to train their systems. For the speech service this is set on every single connection and appears on that company’s own record of the request; for the voice service it is switched off at the account level; the service that produces her replies has never been set to share data and has not used customer data for training by default since 2023.

What they receive. We send each of them only what they need to do their part of the work, and nothing they do not need. The speech service receives only your voice; the voice service receives only the words of her reply; the language service receives what ALMA remembers about you, so that she can answer the way a friend would. Phone numbers never go to any of these three, and neither does your location.

5. Where Your ALMA Lives

Your name, your reminders, and the things ALMA remembers about you are held securely on protected servers in the United States, encrypted on their way there.

6. Your Location Stays on Your Phone

If you use the emergency card, your own phone draws the map. We never store where you are.

7. Text Messages from ALMA

ALMA can send a text message to people in your Circle who have joined, and only when you ask her to. Nobody gets a text from ALMA unless they joined themselves: to join, the person texts JOIN to (321) 321-4688 from their own phone. You can send them the link to our sign-up page, almamyfriend.com/alerts. Every text says it is from ALMA my friend and comes from that number.

ALMA’s texts are starting soon. Until they do, the Get help button does not send a text to anyone, and we will update this page the day they begin.

These are the only texts she sends:

• A welcome. When someone texts JOIN, they get one reply saying they have joined, what texts they may get, and how to stop.
• Get help. When you press the Get help button, everyone in your Circle who has joined and hasn’t opted out gets a text asking them to check on you. It always says: if this is an emergency, call 911, ALMA cannot.
• “Please call.” When you ask ALMA to let someone know you want to talk, they get a short text saying so.
• A missed reminder, only if you turn this on and choose the person. It says that a reminder was not marked done. It never names a medication.

ALMA never sends advertising, offers, or promotions by text, and never will. A text never contains your location or anything you said to ALMA.

How often. Only when one of those moments happens — there is no schedule. We expect most people in a Circle to get a few texts a month at most, and many to get none. Message and data rates may apply.

Texts can be late. A text can arrive late or not at all, and mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. That is why Get help is never a substitute for calling 911.

Stopping and help. Anyone who gets a text from ALMA can reply STOP to stop all ALMA texts, START to get them again, or HELP for help. You can also write to alma@almamyfriend.com. Our full text-message terms are at almamyfriend.com/terms.

Who handles the phone numbers. To deliver a text, we give a texting service the phone number it is going to and the words of that one message — nothing else. The service keeps the words only long enough to deliver the text. We have it set to delete them after that, and any remaining copy is cleared from its systems within about a month. Phone numbers never go to the three services in Section 4, and never to anyone else.

Mobile phone numbers and text-messaging consent collected by ALMA my friend will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. They are never sold, and never given to lead generators. We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

If you are in someone’s Circle. ALMA keeps your name, your number and the record that you joined only as part of that person’s ALMA, and deletes them when their ALMA is deleted (Section 9). Reply STOP at any time and ALMA will not text you again.

8. Who ALMA Is For

ALMA is made for adults — seniors, veterans, and the family members who help them. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and ALMA is not intended for children.

9. Your Rights and Control Over Your Data

• Access: Ask us anytime what ALMA remembers about you.
• Delete: One email to alma@almamyfriend.com, and everything ALMA knows about you is deleted. No forms, no conditions, and nobody asking whether you are sure a dozen times. Copies in our backups are removed within about a week after that.
• Correct: Your reminders and the people in your Circle are yours to change at any time in the app. If ALMA has remembered something about you that is wrong, write to us and we will fix it.
• How long we keep it: For as long as you use ALMA. If your access to ALMA ends, what she remembers about you is deleted fourteen days later, and the copies in our backups about a week after that.

California residents may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to request deletion.

Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have similar rights to know, delete, and correct their personal information, and to opt out of its sale. We honor the rights to know, delete, and correct for every ALMA user, whatever state they live in: just ask. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.

10. Changes to This Policy

If any of this ever stops being true, we will change these words before we change what we do. We will update the “Last Updated” date above whenever this policy changes, and we encourage you to review it periodically.

If ALMA MY FRIEND, LLC is ever acquired, merges with another company, or closes, any personal information we hold will either be deleted or transferred only to an organization that agrees to honor the promises in this policy. We will notify users before any such change takes effect.
